Call For The 2012 Democratic National Convention Released
Over the weekend the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) Rules and Bylaws Committee had it’s final meeting in St. Louis to finalize Party rules and operations. We have a fresh draft of it here. The meetings were also to discuss DNC Executive Committee member elections, constituency caucus bylaws, and other DNC business.
According to DemConWatch here’s one change they’ve noticed so far:
Unpledged votes shall be allocated to provide for the Democratic President, the Democratic Vice President, and all former Democratic Presidents, all former Democratic Vice Presidents, all former Democratic Leaders of the United States Senate, all former Democratic Speakers of the United States House of Representatives and Democratic Minority Leaders, as applicable, and all former Chairpersons of the Democratic National Committee.
Below is a PDF copy of the whole thing. Keep in mind it’s still in draft form. No doubt more changes to come.
The location for the 2012 DNC Convention is yet to be determined. On June 30, 2010, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced that four cities had been chosen as finalists to hold the convention: Charlotte, Cleveland, Minneapolis and St. Louis.
