Rewind: Anatomy Of A Smear Campaign: Obama And The Lying Skanky Teabaggetry Of Gay Bloggers
Note: We ran this post earlier this year when these events happened. We decided to run it again because the midterm election is right around the corner. And we most definitely aim to remind anyone and everyone as to who kept the anti-Democrat and anti-Obama flames stoked 24/7 in the LGBT community for the past two years. So if the midterms don’t come out quite as many of you had hoped, you can count on RENWL to point you to the blood trail of manipulations, lies, deception, strategic tag team dissing and blatant practices of misinforming, hoodwinking and misleading the LGBT community.
Anatomy Of A Smear Campaign In Chronological Order
The smear objectives:
1. Reignite waning and disinterested resentment towards Obama in support of Get Equal series of DADT and ENDA protests scheduled throughout the week of April 18 –25.
2. Also rebuild reader base by tag teaming each others posts while racheting up the hatorade on POTUS with each new posting.
Participants:
Americablog
Pam’s House Blend
David Mixner
Michael Signorile
Firedog Lake: eagerly replaces Dan Savage aka “the Neely O’Hara story” after the other bloggers started pretending not to know him anymore due to his continuous “California blacks and how they supported Prop 8 so it’s okay for me to be racist” rants.
Robin McGehee: The Get Equal connect. Foaming at the mouth in desperation these days. Twice overshadowed and ignored. First time—Clive Jones with the National Equality March. Second time —Dan Choi handcuffing his crazy ass to a White House fence and thus steals the spotlight. She’s hell-bent in melding the next series of protests into the Robin McGehee Show all rolled up in one.
Chris Geidner: The LGBT blogging community’s geeky Clark Kent. He regurgitates the lies of the above bloggers back to them in the form of facts and irrefutable research via DC’s Metro Weekly newspaper or his blog Law Dork. And he does this without being the least bit insulting, insinuating or confrontational while making it uncomfortably obvious to the crooked crew that he refuses to drink the kool-aid no matter how many door prizes they dangle in his face. Pam Spaulding is afraid of him.
A VISUAL PAUSE
As the other bloggers busily plot yet another anti Obama blitz in attempt to improve their sagging readership numbers, Dan Savage aka Neely O’Hara is sadly spiraling down fast via pills, booze, homemade porn and embarrassing comeback attempts after he learns he won’t be asked back to appear on CNN–ever. Plus none of the other bloggers will return his calls. He has been effectively blackballed. Click on the video below to watch the sick tragedy unfold.
Let’s begin: Deciphering The Strategy Of The Latest Obama Smear Campaign
The first two posts listed below by Metro Weekly and LGBT POV are clean stories. The LGBT POV post however is cherry picked for quotes to be taken out of context and facts to be distorted by others—namely John Aravotis of Americablog (a no good lying sonofabitch) as you’ll see in the following links. We’ve provided short commentaries throughout to assist you in deciphering the actions of these bloggers. Lets begin.
Metro Weekly: The Politics of Repeal by Chris Geidner (March 26)
LGBT POV: Rep. Barney Frank on ENDA, DADT and How LGBTs Should Lobby Like the NRA (April 12)
Smearing and lying starts with following post: John Aravotis of Americablog cherry picks a couple of quotes from Karen Ocamb’s blogLGBT POV taking the words completely out of context. Pam Spaulding of Pam’s House Blend picks up where he leaves off and they volley back and forth building momentum with lie after lie for their readership who quite naturally take the bait. To their delight the whining immediately starts growing in volume on both their blogs. Let the volleying begin:
Americablog: Barney Frank says Obama is not for DADT repeal this year, Frank is ‘frustrated, disappointed’ with President, Obama’s lack of support is ‘a problem’ (April 12)
Aravotis tag teams with Pam Spaulding
Pam’s House Blend: Barney Frank: lobby like the NRA; President’s already nixed 2010 DADT repeal (April 13)
Spaulding tosses ball back to Aravotis
Americablog: White House Congressional liaison Is Telling US House Not To Vote On DADT This Year (April 14)
Aravotis hurls ball back to Spaulding with extras
NOTE: Somewhere in this area Robin McGeehee of Get Equal suddenly pops up out of nowhere and starts promoting the various DADT protests scheduled for next week all over Facebook. She starts reposting on her group pages all that Spaulding and Aravotis had published so far to get the anti Obama flames stoking in her camp.
Pam’s House Blend: The Obama White House gives us a DADT civil rights dream deferred along with a bat to the knees(April 14)
Spaulding knowing what they’re doing is deceitful and shitty starts to feel guilty and subtly points the blame at Aravotis as her source just in case the shit does hit the fan. This is so she can say that she was just sharing what was “shared” with her. But it doesn’t stop her from cross posting with FiredogLake who having nothing of their own to contribute regurgitates Act On Principle Web site post, “Dear Insider LGBT Friends-What Went Wrong with the Obama Administration?” Incidentally Act On Principles is a Web site created by the Dallas Principles—-of which Pam Spaulding is a founding member.
Firedog Lake: Hey, National LGBT Leaders? What Went Wrong With Obama? (April 14)
Chris Geidner of Metro Weekly and the blog Law Dork more than likely has been observing all of this via Twitter and what not—and gets tired of the bullshit. So he goes and gets the facts straight from the horses mouth—the White House. In so many words he makes them all out to be the lying liars that they are.
Metro Weekly: To Vote or Not to Vote By Chris Geidner (April 14)
After getting his hands on Geidner’s Metro Weekly post, Aravotis knows the gig is up but nevertheless attempts to save face. He pretends he doesn’t know about the Metro Weekly post but says he received odd statement directly from White House. That’s a laugh.
Americablog: White House Odd Statement On DADT, Still Refuses To Call For Repeal This Year
Pam’s House Blend: Americablog parses the White House’s ‘unnamed’ official’s response to DADT ‘rumor‘ (April 14) Pam gets nervous after she sees Geidner’s Metro Weekly post. Mentions it in this last piece—she knows she’d be a fool not to—but nonetheless eventually tepidly dismisses Geidner’s piece later on in her post.
To be continued…

You know, Dan Savage's personal problems have no business in this article and as someone who actually has a problem that it Savage may or may not have, that's not anything to make light of as I wouldn't even which that on Maggie Gallagher.
This other stuff here I'll have to reread but…that's a big time turnoff.
By derrick9, October 20, 2010 @ 1:18 pm
Kevin, chill. The post is partially tongue 'n' cheek. I have no idea what Savage's personal problems are. I don't know the man.
That's what the Nealy O'Hara video is for—send up. Anybody with eyes can see that.

I think you touched on it in your own response. There's a touch of hypersensitivity there on your behalf that maybe instead lashing out at others, instead you examine that hypersensitivity.
By Chitown Kev, October 21, 2010 @ 6:37 am
Oh, I am hypersensitive about it, make no mistake…other than…well, some of Whitney Houston's ramblings that were apparently made under the influence, that is not something that I take lightly, it is nothing that anyone should be "tongue in cheek" about.
I hated it when liberals would bring up the "is he drunk" question with Dubya, much as I despised George W. Bush.
Don't be so dismissive of the experiences of others that may or may not happen to be your readers.

Good post and straight to the point. I don’t know if this is actually the best place to ask but do you people have any thoughts on where to employ some professional writers? Thanks in advance
